Advanced Modbus Driver Module

Overview

The Advanced Modbus Driver Module is an alternative to Ignition's native Modbus Driver. In addition to client connections, similar to and with the same address syntax as that module, this module provides Modbus server emulation, over both TCP and serial lines.

The server emulation mode includes support for multiple virtual node addresses reachable simultaneously via multiple TCP/IP addresses and multiple serial ports. A Modbus server's address space is exposed to Ignition with the same addressing options allowed for Modbus client connections, but the Digital Input and Input Register address ranges are read/write instead of read-only.

This driver does not implement any of the native Ignition Driver's named mapping operations. Instead, the driver exposes the Modbus address space in browseable form, querying if necessary for the range of available addresses.
